7 Advantages and disadvantages of shopping malls
Listen to five people giving their opinion about the advantages and disadvantages of shopping malls. Match the speakers with their opinions 1-5.
1. I really love going to our local shopping centre because I can find everything I need in one place, whether I'm shopping for food, clothes or gadgets. I can even buy tissues and a new TV in the same place if I want to. Sometimes I go to the mall with my entire family and we spend the whole day there. We do some shopping, have lunch in our favourite fast food restaurant, then watch a blockbuster at the cinema or go bowling.
2. Although a lot of people prefer to have lunch or dinner in some fast food restaurant in the shopping centre, I don't like that because fast food is really unhealthy and there are so many people everywhere that you can't eat your food in peace and quiet. I always buy my food at the local market, butcher's and baker's, where I know that the owners have good quality products. I just hope that those huge shopping centres won't ruin our local shops and markets.
3. I am not a huge fan of shopping centres, but I have to admit that they are quite convenient, especially in bad weather. It doesn't matter how cold or hot it is, you are indoors and don't have to worry about the heat, rain or snow. I hate going to the town centre because there is no way to find a free parking place during the day, so shopping centres are a great solution because there are plenty of parking spaces near the entrance and I don't have to walk far. The third great thing is that I don't even need to withdraw cash. I can pay for everything by card. So simple and easy!
4. To me, all the shopping centres are the same! They all look the same, have the same expensive shops and the same designer clothes. I usually go window shopping to see if there is a sale or if something that I really like or need is on special offer. I am very happy if I can pick up a bargain and pay a small amount of money for a designer product.
5. I think that most teenagers love going to shopping centres, not only with their friends, but also with their family. We usually go to the shopping centre once a month because there are different types of shops. My dad usually goes to buy some electronics or gadgets, my mum always visits a bookshop because she adores books, while my brother goes to clothing shops because he likes good quality clothes, especially T-shirts with funny sayings or cartoon characters. I usually go to the sports shop because I always look for good trainers on sale.

Although most of us have heard of Gangnam in a famous song, not many people know what it is.
Gangnam literally means "south of the river", and it is a district in South Korea's capital city situated along the banks of Han river one of the country's largest bodies of water.
There is plenty to do and see in this historically rich, fast-developing neighbourhood.
You can go clubbing in Gangnam and find yourself partying until the sun comes up. Most of the clubs in this area play EDM or hip-hop music, and usually have seperate rooms for the different genres.
But Gangnam is best known as one of the richest districts in South Korea.
And it is home to many department stores, underground shopping centres and malls. Here you can find Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Versace and other designer stores.
Apgujeong and Cheongdam are the city's top shopping districts. There even used to be a television show called Cheongdam-dong Alice,
about a poor girl wanting to get in with the wealthy elites of the area, spending her time shopping and doing little else.
