1 Solve the problem
I have got 5 cups and a cupboard. Three are inside and two are outside the cupboard like in the picture above. In how many different ways can I arrange the cups to have different numbers of them inside and outside of the cupboard?
2 Solve the problem
A koala climbs a tree. Each day, it climbs 3m and then it sleeps. But the tree is slippery and it then slips down 1m during the night. The next day it does the same thing. In fact it does this every day until it climbs the tree... The tree is 12m high. How long does it take the koala to climb the tree?
